How the enamel layer is formed

Nail polish is a solution of resins in solvents. When applied, the solvents, ethyl acetate and butyl acetate, evaporate in a few minutes, leaving a thin, continuous film on the nail.

This film is made of nitrocellulose and several resins that provide adhesion and shine. Acetyl tributyl citrate acts as a plasticizer: it makes the layer flexible and allows it to move with the nail instead of cracking.

The pigments are evenly distributed thanks to a modified clay, stearalkonium hectorite, which prevents them from settling at the bottom of the bottle. Therefore, it's advisable to roll the container between your hands before using it.

Applying thin coats and allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next creates a smooth, longer-lasting finish. A top coat on top prolongs the shine.

Apply it to clean, dry nails free of any grease.

• Base: first apply a clear base.
• First layer: Spread a thin layer from the center of the base to the tip and then the sides.
• Second layer: After a couple of minutes, apply another thin layer to intensify the color.
